| Thank's for stopping by at my HAM
page !
Maybe we 've had a qso last time ?
No ?
Then would you please be so kind to hurry back to your transceiver and keep
a sharp look out on the bands :-)
I am on the air now for a couple of years, started with the beginners
license and then in December 2003 made the upgrade for the big one. Since
then I am often qrv on shortwave. My most preferred bands are 15, 17, 20m.
Quite often I am qrv with my portable station, which consists of a YAESU
FT-897 with the automatic tuner and a multiband dipole (10-80m) from Kelemen,
mounted on a 10m fibre glass mast.
I am not a friend of contests, for me a qso should have more then
"fivenine-twoeightfour-73-qrz?" ...
What could be more interesting than talking to people from other countries
personally ?
Would be glad to meet you on the bands some day,

One of my favorites is operating on 2m SSB,
below you find a few pictures taken on a sunny weekend on my prefered location
in the Neandertal ( JO31LF ).

After beeing on the air for a couple of years now, I found that the most
difficult handicap on 2m SSB band is neither power nor propagation
but the fact that there are only very few OM's qrv on this band. What does
good propagation bring for benefit if there is no one on the air to talk
with ?! Anyway... there has always been at least one highlight on 2m such
as good dx around our country or a very good talk to another OM, wouldn'
want to miss this... |
Below you can see the mounting of my fibre glass
mast. Most important part is the single part of the roofrack which is stabilizing
the mast on the upper point. Bottom fixing is done by a simple cable which
is affixed at the back wheel.

Because I only use stronger wires for fixing the mast it can be quick
and easily turned into every direction by hand. |

On the left you can see my current outdoor shack with my shortwave
equipment.
Sadly nowadays there are only very few OM's left on 2m band and so usually
I am building up both vhf and hf stations.
OK, at least I will have fun on hf...
Next time outdoors I will go and test my full size dipole for 160m band,
would be nice to meet you then !
By the way, visitors / co-operators are always welcome when I am outdoors.
Just send a note and you'll get info about my next portable trips. |
